Dingell/Boucher Solicit Recommendations On Climate Change in Preparation of Upcoming Legislation

Washington, D.C.
- Representative John D. Dingell (D-MI), Chairman of the Committee on Energy and Commerce, and Representative Rick Boucher, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Energy and Air Quality, today sent a letter inviting leaders from the energy industry and environmental community to provide recommendations as to which issues should be addressed in climate change legislation currently being developed by the Committee.

The letter included a series of questions that focus on the ramifications of greenhouse gas emissions and cap-and-trade policy. Recipients will have until March 19, 2007, to submit recommendations.

Dingell sent similar fact gathering letters while working on the Clean Air Act amendments during the 1990s.

A copy of the letter and list of recipients is attached.
