The Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade, and Consumer Protection met in open markup session on Tuesday, October 23, 2007, pursuant to notice, and took the following actions:

H.R. 2601, a bill to extend the authority of the Federal Trade Commission to collect fees to administer and enforce the provisions relating to the ‘Do-not-call’ registry of the Telemarketing Sales Rule was favorably forwarded to the full Committee, amended, by a voice vote.

The following amendment was offered:

An Amendment in the Nature of a Substitute offered by Mr. Stearns, #1, was adopted by a voice vote.


H.R. 3461, the “Safeguarding America’s Families by Enhancing and Reorganizing New and Efficient Technologies Act of 2007”, was favorably forwarded to the full Committee, amended, by a voice vote.

The following amendment was offered:

An amendment offered by Mr. Rush, #1, was adopted by a voice vote.


H.R. 3526, a bill to include all banking agencies within the existing regulatory authority under the Federal Trade Commission Act with respect to depository institutions, and for other purposes, was favorably forwarded to the full Committee, amended, by a voice vote.

The following amendment was offered:

An amendment offered by Mr. Rush, #1, was adopted by a voice vote.
