The Subcommittee on Health met in open markup session on Wednesday, October 10, 2007, and took the following actions:

H.R. 1236, a bill to make permanent the authority of the United States Postal Service to issue a special postage stamp to support breast cancer research, was favorably forwarded to the full Committee, amended, by a voice vote.

The following amendment was offered:

An amendment in the nature of a substitute offered by Mr. Pallone, #1, was adopted by a voice vote.

H.R. 1424, the "Paul Wellstone Mental Health and Addiction Equity Act of 2007" was favorably forwarded to the full Committee, amended, by a voice vote.

The following amendments were offered:

A manager's amendment offered by Mr. Pallone, #1, was adopted by a voice vote;

An amendment to the Pallone amendment offered by Ms. Wilson, #1A, was defeated by a yea-nay vote: 9-19;

An amendment to the Pallone amendment offered by Mr. Deal, #1B, was defeated by a voice vote;

An amendment to the Pallone amendment offered by Mr. Deal, #1C, was defeated by a voice vote.
