H.R. 5058: Financial Accounting Standards Board Act, was reported to the full Committee, amended, by a voice vote.

The following amendments were offered:

Two amendments, offered en bloc, by Mr. Stearns, #1, re: evaluation of compliance and establishment of an Accounting Standards Commission, were adopted by a voice vote;

An amendment by Mr. Dingell, #2, re: "sense of the Congress" concerning establishment of a system for the financial support of costs of the setting of accounting standards by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, was adopted by a voice vote;

An amendment in the nature of a substitute by Ms. DeGette, #3, that would replace the text of H.R. 5058 with the text of the "Truth and Accountablity in Accounting Act of 2002", was withdrawn by unanimous consent;

An amendment by Mr. Markey, #4, re: revision of accounting standards for asset retirement obligations of oil and gas production companies, was withdrawn by unanimous consent.
