The following amendments were offered:

An amendment by Mr. Waxman, #1, re: hydraulic fracturing - sense of Congress that diesel fuel should be prohibited from being injected into underground sources of drinking water, was defeated by a yea-nay vote: 7 - 17;

An amendment by Mr. Brown, #2, re: establishment of a Gasoline Availability Reserve Program modeled after the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, was defeated by a yea-nay vote: 10 -18;

An amendment by Mr. Waxman, #3, re: requiring the President to reduce consumption of oil by .6 million barrels per day from the projected demand for oil in 2010, was defeated by a yea-nay vote: 8 - 14;

An amendment by Mr. Markey, #4, re: natural gas price transparency, was withdrawn by unanimous consent;

An amendment by Mr. Dingell, #5, re: hydroelectric energy - to strike Title III and insert compromise language adopted in the 107th Congress House-Senate conference on H.R. 4, was defeated by a yea-nay vote: 14 - 17;

An amendment by Mr. Shadegg, #6, re: hydroelectric production incentives, was adopted by a yea-nay vote: 19 - 9;

An amendment by Mr. Markey, #7, re: requiring Nuclear Regulatory Commission to consult with the Department of Homeland Security prior to granting license extension or amendment for the operation of a nuclear facility to ensure that there is an adequate emergency evacuation plan for the communities living near the nuclear facility, was adopted by a voice vote;

An amendment by Mr. Burr, #8, re: medical isotope production, was withdrawn by unanimous consent;

An amendment by Mr. Markey, #9, re: creating an interagency task force to assess security associated with materials that could be used to make dirty bombs, and recommend changes, was defeated by a yea-nay vote: 12 - 18;

An amendment by Mr. Markey, #10, re: nuclear material reprocessing, was defeated by a yea-nay vote: 4 - 21;

An amendment by Mr. Norwood, #11, re: open access, was withdrawn by unanimous consent;

An amendment by Mr. Dingell, #12, re: electric energy - striking language of committee print and inserting the text of H.R. 1272, "Energy Markets Fraud Prevention and Consumer Protection Act," was defeated by a yea-nay vote: 15 - 16;

An amendment by Mr. Boucher, #13, re: siting of interstate electrical transmission facilities, was defeated by a yea-nay vote: 11 - 18;

An amendment by Mrs. Capps, #14, re: to allow states to opt out of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) standard market design proposal, was defeated by a yea-nay vote: 12 - 16;

An amendment by Messrs. Shimkus and Rogers, #15, re: economic dispatch, was withdrawn by unanimous consent;

An amendment by Mr. Markey, #16, re: Title VII - Electricity - penalties for fraudulent or manipulative practices, was withdrawn by unanimous consent;

An amendment by Mr. Boucher, #17, re: to strike the repeal of FERC merger review authority, was adopted by a yea-nay vote: 16 - 12;

An amendment by Mr. Pallone, #18, re: renewable energy portfolio standard, was defeated by a yea-nay vote: 7 - 21;

An amendment by Mr. Brown, #19, re: incentive pricing: requires that FERC grant an incentive rate for an investment in the transmission system only if FERC finds that the investment would benefit consumer by (1) significantly reducing transmission congestion (2) significantly improving the reliability and integrity of the transmission grid, or (3) lowering prices for the sale of eletric energy, was withdrawn by unanimous consent;

An amendment by Mr. Boucher, #20, re: amending the Public Utility Regulatory Practices Act of 1978 (PURPA) to terminate mandatory purchase and sale requirements under certain conditions, was adopted by a voice vote;

An amendment by Mr. Markey, #21, re: to increase average fuel economy standards for light trucks and cars by requiring a 5% reduction in the amount of fuel by 2010 based on the amount used in 2004; an additional 5% reduction would be added by 2015 based on the amount used in 2010, was defeated by a yea-nay vote: 6 - 24;

An amendment by Mrs. Capps, #22, re: adding a new Title X - MTBE Prohibition, was withdrawn by unanimous consent.
