operating budget for the 108th Congress was approved by a voice vote.

The Committee on Energy and Commerce Oversight Plan for the 108th Congress was approved for reporting to the Committee on Government Reform by a voice vote.

A proposed Committee Rule change regarding member opening statements at hearings was adopted, amended, by a voice vote.

The following amendment was offered:

An amendment by Mr. Tauzin, #1, was adopted by a voice vote.

H.R. 663, Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act, was ORDERED FAVORABLY REPORTED, AMENDED, by a voice vote.

The following amendment was offered:

An amendment by Mr. Brown, #1, re: grants for electronic prescription programs and information technologies that would improve the quality of care and patient safety and reduce adverse events and health care complications resulting from medical errors, was adopted by a voice vote.
