H.R. 851: Save Our Satellites Act of 1999, was ORDERED FAVORABLY REPORTED, amended, by a voice vote.

The following amendments were offered:

An amendment in the nature of a substitute by Messrs. Tauzin and Markey, #1, was ADOPTED, as amended, by a voice vote;

An amendment to the Tauzin amendment in the nature of a substitute by Mr. Boucher, #1A, re: inquiry/report on availability of local television broadcast signals in small and rural markets as part of a service that competes with, or supplements, video programming delivered by satellite carriers or cable operators, was ADOPTED by a voice vote.

An amendment to the Tauzin amendment in the nature of a substitute by Mrs. Wilson, #1B, re: network nonduplication rights and how they apply to subscribers [of a satellite carrier] who have installed satellite reception equipment in a recreational vehicle, was ADOPTED by a voice vote;

An amendment to the Tauzin amendment in the nature of a substitute by Mr. Green, #1C, re: provision of antennas, was WITHDRAWN, with no objection;

An amendment to the Tauzin amendment in the nature of a substitute by Mr. Stearns, #1D, re: must carry waivers, was WITHDRAWN, with no objection.
