The Committee on Energy and Commerce Chairman Henry A. Waxman and Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations Chairman Bart Stupak announced an investigation into the August 28, 2008, explosion at the Bayer CropScience facility in Institute, West Virginia. The Oversight Subcommittee will be holding a hearing on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, to examine the causes of the accident, the adequacy of the response, and the scope of the information provided to the first responders, employees, and the public.
