The Subcommittee on Health held a legislative hearing on Thursday, July 22, 2010, in 2322 Rayburn House Office Building.  The hearing examined H.R. 5710, the National All-Schedules Electronic Reporting Reauthorization Act of 2010, and H.R. 5809, the Safe Drug Disposal Act.

The Subcommittee on Health held a hearing entitled “Antibiotic Resistance and the Use of Antibiotics in Animal Agriculture” on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, in 2123 Rayburn House Office Building.  The hearing examined the use of antibiotics in food-producing animals and its impact on human health.

The Subcommittee on Health held a hearing entitled “The Battle Against Diabetes:  Progress Made, Challenges Unmet.”  The hearing will examine advances in research into type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes, as well as other related public health efforts.  It explored our current understanding of the causes and consequences of diabetes, as well as evidence-based prevention and management strategies.

The Subcommittee on Health held a hearing entitled “MedPAC’s June 2010 Report to Congress:  Aligning Incentives in Medicare” on June 23, 2010 at 2 p.m. The hearing examined the findings and recommendations contained in the report submitted by the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) to Congress on June 15, 2010.
