At today’s House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations hearing on the health law, a top Obama administration official admitted that the payment features for HealthCare.gov are still not built.
WASHINGTON, DC – Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade Subcommittee Chairman Lee Terry (R-NE) today announced plans for a hearing the first week of February to examine data breaches and their effect on consumers. Target, which recently suffered a breach that compromised the information of approximately 110 million customers, will testify along with law enforcement officials and other witnesses.
Most states require merchants to notify individuals whose personal information was taken without authorization in a data breach, but definitions of personal information and timeframes for consumer notice vary from state-to-state.
