WASHINGTON, DC - Today, the House Energy and Commerce Committee announced its hearing and vote schedule for the week of June 18. The full committee will vote on several pieces of legislation that will support the nation’s manufacturing sector, remove outdated regulations and red-tape, maintain grid reliability, and protect the Internet. Finally, the committee will vote on its third Semi-Annual Committee Activity Report to the House.
WASHINGTON, DC - Today the State Department published in the Federal Register the Notice of Intent (NOI) to prepare a Supplemental EIS (SEIS) for the second Keystone XL Presidential Permit application. The SEIS will supplement the State Department’s FIES issued last August, which found the pipeline will have limited adverse environmental impacts.
WASHINGTON, DC - President Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency today announced its new proposal to tighten national standards for fine particulate matter. EPA has proposed revisions to lower the annual standard from 15 micrograms per cubic meter to a new standard of 12 to 13 micrograms per cubic meter, and to make certain other revisions to the current standards.
