Since this turbulent odyssey began, Ford has consistently placed safety above company profit and profile, this is commendable. Ford has yet again found a problem with Firestone tires. Rather than sitting on information it only recently learned, Ford is doing the responsible thing. Ford has notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, they have gone to the maker of the tires, and today they are telling the Congress and the public."
