Democratic Forum on "Achieving Health Equity: The Path Forward" (April 29, 2016)

On Friday, April 29, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. in room HVC-215, U.S. Capitol Visitor Center, House Energy and Commerce Committee Democrats in partnership with the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC), and Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC), held a forum entitled, “Achieving Health Equity: The Path Forward.”  The forum comes at the end of National Minority Health Month, where this year’s theme is “Accelerating Health Equity for the Nation.” 

The forum will focus on health disparities in the treatment and prevention of heart disease among racial and ethnic minorities, as well as efforts to build a more diverse healthcare workforce and transform medical research to meet the needs of a diverse population.  Stakeholders representing diverse areas of expertise on these topics will participate in the forum.
