Investigation into Planned Parenthood Abortion Practices Continues

Sep 23, 2015
Upton & Murphy: “Our investigation has always and continues to be about respect for human life.”

WASHINGTON, DC – House Energy and Commerce Committee leaders this week continued their investigation of Planned Parenthood’s abortion practices and the handling of fetal tissue. The committee leaders sent letters to Novogenix Laboratories and Advanced Bioscience Resources, Inc. (ABR), demanding more details regarding how the companies deal with Planned Parenthood affiliates, the cost of fetal tissue, and obtaining consent from patients. The letters were signed by full committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-MI) and Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee Chairman Tim Murphy (R-PA).

“Our investigation has always and continues to be about respect for human life. As we have interviewed officials from several tissue procurement companies as well as Planned Parenthood officials, our list of questions has only become longer,” said Upton and Murphy. “We will continue to fight for the youngest and most innocent among us as we search for answers in this investigation. It’s a matter of respect.”

These letters are a continuation of the committee’s investigation into Planned Parenthood’s abortion practices after a series of “abhorrent” videos raised serious questions about if Planned Parenthood and the companies it works with are breaking the law.
