Members Continue Fighting for Consumers and Small Businesses

WASHINGTON, DC – The Subcommittee on Communications and Technology, chaired by Rep. Greg Walden (R-OR), has scheduled a markup this week to consider three bills that will protect consumers and small businesses. The subcommittee will convene on Wednesday, February 10, at 3 p.m. in room 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building for opening statements only. The subcommittee will reconvene Thursday, February 11, at 10 a.m. in room 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building to consider the following legislation:

“As always, we are fighting to make sure consumers and small businesses are put first. These commonsense proposals will ensure the ability to access the Internet’s many different content streams and innovative offerings of the digital age,” said Walden. “Chairman Wheeler was adamant that net neutrality would not be a vehicle to impose rate regulation on the Internet or harm small businesses. These bills guarantee those protections.”

The Majority Memorandum and electronic copies of the bills are available here. Amendment text and votes will be posted at the same link as they are available.
