Upton, Walden Statement on Estimated Burden of FCC's Internet Rules
WASHINGTON, DC - Energy and Commerce Chairman Fred Upton (R-MI) and Communications and Technology Subcommittee Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) today issued the following statement regarding the Federal Communications Commission's submission of its "Network Neutrality" rules to the Office of Management and Budget:
"More than six months after it adopted an order to regulate the Internet, the FCC has finally submitted the rules to the Office of Management and Budget, which must still review and approve the submission. The FCC's estimate of the paperwork burden has already tripled. One has to wonder whether the FCC will also finally admit it has grossly underestimated the burden on innovation, investment, and jobs. The House has already disapproved these rules and now we are one step closer to review of these job-crushing regulations by the Senate and the courts."
