WASHINGTON, DC – Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) joined America’s Newsroom on Fox News this morning with Bill Hemmer and Sandra Smith to discuss the House’s latest push to combat the opioid crisis.
Discussing the House’s two-week push advancing legislation to help families and communities across the country, Chairman Walden said, “These bills will save American lives.”
Chairman Walden also highlighted Congress’ continued commitment in ending this epidemic, pointing to past legislation. Those efforts include the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA) and the 21st Century Cures Act, both of which became law in 2016, and $4 billion in new resources in this March’s government funding bill.
