Letter of Support for H.R. 2094, the School Access to Emergency Epinephrine Act

Excerpt: It is estimated that close to 1 million American school children have had an allergic reaction to food while in school. Many have suffered anaphylaxis, a systemic allergic reaction that can kill within minutes unless epinephrine is administered promptly. It is vitally important that epinephrine auto-injectors are readily available to school personnel who may be present when an anaphylactic reaction occurs. This is important not only for students and staff with severe allergies to foods but also those at risk of anaphylaxis to bee stings, latex, or other allergens.
