WASHINGTON, DC – The Subcommittee on Health, chaired by Rep. Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), announced a hearing for Thursday, July 20, 2017, at 10 a.m. in room 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled, “Examining Bipartisan Legislation to Improve the Medicare Program.”
#SubHealth will review several bipartisan bills with would individually improve the Medicare program, and collectively, strengthen the program for current and future beneficiaries.
“The Medicare program is critical to our nation’s seniors, and can certainly benefit from targeted reforms to improve the care it delivers to vulnerable patients, streamline the ability of providers to deliver that care, and ensure its long-term viability,” said Chairman Burgess. “A surge of ‘baby boomers’ means that we need to take a thorough look at the program to see what can be done to ensure that both today’s and tomorrow’s beneficiaries can rest easy knowing Medicare will be there for them when they need it. This hearing is a vital step in working together to identify ways to strengthen the program.”
The Majority Memorandum, witness list, and witness testimony for the hearing will be available here as they are posted.
