Walden: “This is about saving lives.”
WASHINGTON, DC – During his weekly reporter briefing, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) held an enrollment ceremony for three bills that are awaiting President Trump’s signature. Among the bills signed and readied for President Trump was S. 204, the Trickett Wendler, Frank Mongiello, Jordan McLinn, and Matthew Bellina Right to Try Act of 2017.

S. 204 was passed by the House on Tuesday, by a vote of 250-169. It passed the Senate on August 3, 2017, by unanimous consent.
Chairman Walden offers remarks in support of the bipartisan legislation
Speaking in support of Right to Try, Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) said, “This is about saving lives. This is about people who have no other choice. … and there may be an opportunity to try something that hasn’t gone all the way through the process that could save their lives.”
“It will give people hope,” added Chairman Walden.
S. 204 now officially heads to the White House, where President Trump will sign it into law.
