Upton: President’s Budget “Out of Sync with Priorities of Folks in SW Michigan”

WASHINGTON, DC – House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-MI) issued the following statement in response to President Obama’s FY 2017 budget request:

“Our economy is reeling, and the president’s answer is he wants Americans to pay more for gas. We should be focused on jobs and economic growth, period. The $10.25 per-barrel-of-oil tax exemplifies a budget that is out of sync with the priorities of folks in Southwest Michigan and across the country. We can do better. And we will.”
