Energy Subcommittee Announces Hearing on Decarbonizing the U.S. Energy Sector
Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Energy Subcommittee Chairman Bobby L. Rush (D-IL) announced today that the Energy Subcommittee will hold a fully remote hearing on Thursday, February 18, at 11:30 a.m. (EST) entitled, “A Smarter Investment: Pathways to a Clean Energy Future.”
“Clean energy isn’t just clean, it’s also stable, affordable, and generated right here at home – where it employs roughly three times as many Americans as the fossil fuel industry. It is simply the smarter investment, and it’s past time we unite behind decarbonizing our energy sector and building up our clean energy options,” said Pallone and Rush. “We look forward to discussing the best ideas for fully decarbonizing our energy sector and setting the country on the path to a clean, prosperous future.”
This hearing will take place remotely via Cisco Webex video conferencing. Members of the public may view the hearing via live webcast accessible on the Energy and Commerce Committee’s website. Please note the webcast will not be available until the hearing begins.
Additional information for this hearing, including the Committee Memorandum, testimony, and the live webcast will be posted HERE as they become available.
