Energy Subcommittee Announces Hearing on Pipeline Safety and Security
Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Energy Subcommittee Chairman Bobby L. Rush (D-IL) announced today that the Energy Subcommittee will hold a hearing on Wednesday, May 1 at 10 am in the John D. Dingell Room, 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building, on reauthorization of the Pipeline Safety Act. The hearing is entitled, “The State of Pipeline Safety and Security in America.”
“Three million miles of pipeline transport oil and gas throughout the country, often right beneath our feet. The Pipeline Safety Act is crucial for keeping Americans, their homes and their environment safe – so it’s important that we get this law’s reauthorization right,” Pallone and Rush said. “We look forward to hearing from witnesses about what we can do to confront new safety and security challenges and improve pipeline infrastructure.”
Information for this hearing, including the Committee Memorandum, witness list, testimony and a live webcast will be posted HERE as they become available.
