Health Subcommittee to Hold Legislative Hearing on Surprise Medical Bills
Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Health Subcommittee Chairwoman Anna G. Eshoo (D-CA) announced today that the Health Subcommittee will hold a legislative hearing on Wednesday, June 12, at 10 am in the John D. Dingell Room, 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled, “No More Surprises: Protecting Patients from Surprise Medical Bills.”
“Surprise medical bills are burdening Americans across the country with unexpected financial debt through no fault of their own,” Pallone and Eshoo said. “It is time for Congress to act to protect patients by developing a solution that takes patients out of the middle without increasing health care costs. Next week we will hear from a range of stakeholders as we consider legislative proposals that protect patients and put an end to the surprise billing phenomenon.”
Information for this hearing, including the Committee Memorandum, witness list and testimony, and a live webcast, will be posted HERE as they become available.
