O&I Subcommittee to Hold Hearing on Trump Administration’s Attacks on Title X Family Planning Program
Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee Chair Diana DeGette (D-CO) announced today that the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee will hold a hearing on Wednesday, June 19, at 10 am in the John D. Dingell Room, 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled, “Protecting Title X and Safeguarding Quality Family Planning Care.”
“The Title X family planning program has played a critical role in the lives of Americans for nearly 50 years,” Pallone and DeGette said. “Unfortunately, the Trump Administration has instituted changes that undermine the success of Title X and will imperil the health and wellbeing of millions of patients, especially low-income women, who rely on the program. This hearing will shine a light on the Trump Administration’s harmful actions and provide an opportunity to hear directly from experts on the essential role the Title X program plays in supporting high-quality family planning and related health care across the country.”
Information for this hearing, including the Committee Memorandum, witness list and testimony, and a live webcast, will be posted HERE as they become available.
