Chairs Rodgers and Griffith Announce Oversight Hearing of the EPA’s Greenhouse Gas Fund

Washington, D.C. — House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations Chair Morgan Griffith (R-VA) today announced a subcommittee hearing titled “Fighting the Misuse of Biden’s Green Bank Giveaway.”

“Taxpayers deserve to know they won’t be funding the next big government boondoggle—yet the EPA’s $27 billion greenhouse gas fund is at risk of becoming just that. Given that the agency is required to spend all of the funding—much of which could go to the administration’s non-profit political allies—between now and September of this year, it’s easy to imagine how this slush fund could lead to massive waste, fraud, and abuse,” said Chairs Rodgers and Griffith. “The EPA needs to explain to Congress—and the American people—how it's planning to administer this funding in a way that will deter misuse.”
