Chairs Rodgers and Guthrie Announce Health Hearing on the Growing Cost of Health Care

Washington, D.C. — House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Subcommittee on Health Chair Brett Guthrie (R-KY) today announced a Health subcommittee hearing titled “Health Care Spending in the United States: Unsustainable for Patients, Employers, and Taxpayers."

“Patients, employers, and taxpayers are feeling the brunt of high health care costs as the United States spends more on care as a percentage of our economy than any other developed nation. The Committee has crafted and advanced bipartisan solutions in the Lower Costs, More Transparency Act to provide patients with price transparency and drive down the cost of care,” said Chairs Rodgers and Guthrie. “This hearing will give members a chance to further discuss what factors are causing cost increases for individuals, for the health care sector, and for federal health programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.”
