Chairs Rodgers and Guthrie Announce Health Legislative Hearing on Strengthening Patient Access to Care in Medicare

Washington, D.C. — House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Subcommittee on Health Chair Brett Guthrie (R-KY) today announced a legislative subcommittee hearing titled “What’s the Prognosis?: Examining Medicare Proposals to Improve Patient Access to Care & Minimize Red Tape for Doctors.”

“As we look to modernize and strengthen Medicare for seniors, it’s critical that we examine the way health care providers are paid by Medicare to maintain accountability for providers, eliminate red tape, and preserve the program for future generations. We look forward to considering the legislation at this hearing to determine the best pathway forward toward a system that rewards health care providers that deliver high quality care to patients,” said Chairs Rodgers and Guthrie.
