Washington, D.C. — House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Subcommittee on Health Chair Brett Guthrie (R-KY) today announced a legislative hearing titled "Legislative Proposals to Prevent and Respond to Generic Drug Shortages."

“Cancer patients in need of lifesaving treatments have been rocked by shortages in generic medicines driven, in large part, by economic issues and government policies. Addressing the root causes of these shortages will require a multifaceted approach. We thank everyone for their feedback and collaboration and look forward to moving closer to find long-term solutions to prevent drug shortages for patients,” said Chairs Rodgers and Guthrie.
