Chairs Rodgers and Latta Announce Hearing on Strengthening American Tech and Communications Leadership

Washington, D.C. — House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Communications and Technology Subcommittee Chair Bob Latta (R-OH) announced a hearing titled “Strengthening American Communications Leadership with Open Radio Access Networks.”

“5G, 6G, and future generations of wireless networks will fuel innovation and entrepreneurship that strengthens the economy. These networks help connect millions of Americans, enabling us to incorporate new technology in our daily lives,” said Chairs Rodgers and Latta. “In order to win the future, we must ensure networks are secure and that America—not communist China—is leading the innovation, developing the technology, and deploying it. Open Radio Access Networks (ORAN), in particular, are a key part of achieving this goal. We look forward to hearing from industry experts and stakeholders about how we can leverage ORAN to cement American communications leadership.”
