WASHINGTON, DC – Today marks the one-year anniversary of the 21st Century Cures Act becoming law. This game-changing law brings our health care innovation infrastructure into the 21st Century, delivering hope for patients and loved ones, and providing necessary resources to researchers to continue their efforts to uncover the next generation of cures and treatments.

For the one-year anniversary of this transformative law, the original bill sponsors, #SubEnergy Chairman Fred Upton (R-MI) and #SubOversight Ranking Member Diana DeGette (D-CO), highlighted some of the most important provisions of the law and why patients should be hopeful this holiday season for new cures and treatments.

On the anniversary of House-passage of Cures, #SubHealth conducted a checkup on implementation, hearing from U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner, Dr. Scott Gottlieb, and National Institutes of Health (NIH) Director, Dr. Francis Collins. Both officials spoke to the tremendous progress being made and what additional implementation milestones are on the horizon.
