E&C Leaders Announce Hearing on Exposing the Environmental, Human Rights, & National Security Risks of the Biden’s Rush to Green Policies

Washington, D.C. — House Energy and Commerce Committee Cathy Rodgers (R-WA) and Environment, Manufacturing, and Critical Materials Subcommittee Chair Bill Johnson (R-OH) today announced a hearing titled “Exposing the Environmental, Human Rights and National Security Risks of the Biden Administration's Rush to Green Policies.”

Chairs Rodgers and Johnson released the following statement:

“President Biden’s rush-to-green agenda is forcing an energy transition on people. As a result, the U.S. is becoming more reliant on resources like critical materials—essential for wind, solar, and electric vehicles—which often rely upon child labor, forced labor, and dirty supply chains from countries like China. Increasing our dependence upon countries with significantly lower environmental and human rights standards than the U.S. will not help us reduce emissions. We look forward to a transparent, fact-based discussion of these concerns to ensure we can move towards a cleaner American energy future without sacrificing American values or our energy security.”
