WASHINGTON, DC - Two hundred and thirty bipartisan members of Congress have added their names as co-sponsors of H.R. 6, the 21st Century Cures Act, signaling their support for this “exceptional” and “transformational” bill.

The success of 21st Century Cures stems from its focus on patients as well as its transparent and collaborative approach. Chairman Fred Upton (R-MI) and Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO) brought everyone to the table – patients, researchers, innovators, care givers, regulators, and members – spending a full year listening about how best to help patients. They took the conversation outside of the Capitol and around the country, even taking to social media for ideas. The result is legislation that will help patients all across the country, and a majority of House members understand that and have partnered with Upton, DeGette, Health Subcommittee Chairman Joe Pitts (R-PA), full committee Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), and Health Subcommittee Ranking Member Gene Green (D-TX) on H.R. 6.

The legislation has also received letters of support from hundreds of organizations, including patient groups, the Association of American Medical Colleges, sixty-seven cancer institutes, and seventy-five research, life sciences, and patient advocacy organizations.
