Washington, D.C. — House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Environment, Manufacturing, and Critical Materials Subcommittee Chair Buddy Carter (R-GA) announced a hearing titled “Ensuring the Cybersecurity of America's Drinking Water Systems.”

“The U.S. public water system is an essential part of our everyday lives, providing clean, potable drinking water to Americans. These systems are increasingly vulnerable to cyberattacks by adversaries and other bad actors wishing to do us harm, underscoring the need for strengthening their cybersecurity. Next week’s hearing will be an opportunity to discuss with experts and stakeholders how we can best safeguard this key infrastructure from attacks and mitigate future risks,” said Chairs Rodgers and Carter.
