Chairs Rodgers and Duncan Announce Hearing on Unlocking AI’s Potential in the Energy Sector

Washington, D.C. — House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Energy, Climate, and Grid Security Subcommittee Chair Jeff Duncan (R-SC) announced a subcommittee hearing titled “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Powering America’s Energy Future.”

“Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming every part of our economy, including the energy sector. From strengthening grid infrastructure to developing energy resources to improving efficiency, AI has the potential to get affordable, reliable energy to Americans faster, reduce risks to the electric grid, and help reduce emissions. At the same time, deployment of these new AI tools present challenges and potential risks, including for cybersecurity, that we must understand. We look forward to hearing from industry leaders and discussing how America leads in the responsible deployment of AI to help unlock our full energy potential.”
